Help with Technophobia - Workshop

Kevin Machin presents a one hour workshop aimed to help writers who want to become more familiar and comfortable with technology.

Format
The one hour workshop will consist of two parts.
- Presentation: on various topics. See below. Approximately 30 minutes.
- Questions & answers: a chance for attendees to participate and find out what they want to know. Approximately 30 minutes.
Topics
Here's an approximate list of the topics to be covered. It might change on the day, according to demand and available time.
- Devices: a summary of various types of devices that can be of use to writers, including desktop PCs, portables, tablets, phones, e-readers.
- Cloud: what and where is The Cloud – a simple explanation.
- Backups: the importance of safeguarding your work and how to go about it.
- Software: a quick summary, in general terms, of what tools and services are available for writers.
- Artificial Intelligence: a very brief summary of the impact of AI on writing. Some pros and cons.
- Safety & security: some tips for staying safe and protecting your work, tools, and information.
