The Benefits of joining NAWG

For groups, when  joining, you  will be sent a copy of  “Running Good Writing Groups” which we hope you will find informative and helpful.  A very useful tool to help set up and run a writing group.  For those already established it becomes a way of injecting new life into your meetings.

NAWG has free entry competitions for members from both Groups and Associates, covering poetry, short stories, stage plays, journalistic articles and an award for the most promising novel.  The awards are presented at a Gala Dinner in September at the three day Annual Festival of Writing.

NAWG publishes a bi-monthly magazine, LINK, and each affiliated group receives three free copies for distribution among its members. Associate members receive a personal copy. Individual group writers can, if they would like their own copy, subscribe too.  We are very keen to hear what you have to say, or what you have to offer and items for LINK are always welcome, giving you the oppourtunity to see your work published.

You may have free mention of your own club’s competitions and events on both the website and in LINK and self-published authors amongst you can have a free showcase slot in LINK .  There will be free market place space at the NAWG festivals.  We run an annual Lottery, to be drawn at the AGM, with a prize of a free year’s membership for a group or associate member, and for the festival there are always “member’s rates”  to help with the costs.

Would you like to join?

Please note: – As from 1st July 2011, membership fees will rise to £40 for group membership, £20 for Associate membership and if you would like you own personal copy of LINK it will cost you £12.

Groups who have renewal dates overlapping this date will not be charged the new rate until they renew their membership.
