Words in Edgeways Social Creative Writing Group

 

We are a relatively new group, officially established in 2005, when we were fortunate to receive a start-up funding grant from Awards for All.

 

On Monday evenings, between 7:00 and 9:00 pm, we use the Meeting Room in Boothstown Community Hall, where friendly and lively banter is eventually quietened to allow a read-around, followed by a writing session to provide stimulus for the next offering. A programme of visiting speakers, tutors and events is also maintained and to date we have self-published two anthologies.  

 

‘Layols fer Meddlers’, our first publication was awarded a first prize certificate in the 2007 David St John Thomas Charitable Trust Awards and we were able to sell enough copies to fund the publication of our second anthology, ‘Pot Hooks for Ladles’.

 

Ability is not a condition of membership – enthusiasm and participation are mandatory!
