Ormskirk
Writers & Literary Society (OWLS) OWLS is a group of
people who enjoy writing for pleasure, (and sometimes profit!), meeting from
7.30 to 10.00 pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month throughout the
year at the Art
& Community Centre, St Helens Road, Ormskirk (next door to Chapel Gallery) The annual programme is arranged to include a broad variety of topics suggested by members, offering maximum help, stimulus and interest, and includes manuscript readings, workshops, spontaneous writing, competitions and guest speakers. Our
meetings are valued for the advice, comment and constructive critique generously
given. We welcome all writers regardless of age and experience.
Beginners
find our meetings particularly helpful. Current favourite genres within the group include short stories, sketches, verse, articles, autobiography and radio plays. Whatever you write, why not join us? You
are welcome to attend three meetings as a visitor. If you then decide to become a regular member, the annual fee
is £20. Each May, we present our Annual Writing Day, a full programme of workshops and lectures by well-known published writers. For further information please contact either: Ishbel
