Erewash Writers' Group

Erewash Writers' Group was formed in 1999 and now has 15 members. They meet on the first Friday on every month between 10.30am and 12.30pm at the Parklands Connexion, Leopold Street, Long Eaton, Derbyshire. Members pay £2.50 per month, paying six monthly in advance or monthly by arrangement with the treasurer. Visitors pay £3.00 on the day. The main aim of the group is to promote the art of creative writing and encourage fellowship between writers and the local community. Workshops and talks are organised with the aid of grants from the Awards For All Scheme, Erewash Borough Council and Read On/Write Away Scheme (Derbyshire County Council). The group's latest anthology, "Pause Awhile," will be hot off the press soon. An A4 size is also being printed for the visually impaired. This was funded by the Awards For All Scheme.

The contact for the group is Janet Devereux (Secretary/Treasurer) on 0115 8498519.
