Dunholme Writers
Up to eight members from a large area of the North of England meet in a member's home in Durham for one Saturday in each month. Each meeting starts in the morning and continues until early evening with a break for lunch. We start with business matters then discuss competitions or other information; but most of the day is spent reading and criticising each others work. This format has served us well for c.15 years: as a consequence turnover is slow and we are currently full. Various members have won competitions and/or been widely published (plus of course a ration of near-misses). The group members have catholic tastes and debate can be vigorous.
