I really love NAWGFest, and I booked up for next year before I left Warwick. I've already been spreading the news about NAWGFest 2018 and will continue to do so.
Thank you once again for a most enjoyable and stimulating conference. Please pass on my appreciation to the committee and helpers.
I am pleased that you were persuaded to carry on as Chair and hope that you can be relieved of chores sufficiently that you can enjoy continuing to be part of the team while coping with your husband's difficulties.
I am already looking forward to next year and do hope that more people can be attracted to a fantastic event.
I would like to thank you and your brilliant team of volunteers for inviting me to teach at NAWGFest 2017. It was a fantastic event. I particularly enjoyed the Gala drinks and meal. It was great seeing some of the familiar faces from when I used to do the website and meeting lots of new friends.
I hope that you will invite me back to teach again one day in the future.
All best wishes.
Thank you for organising another wonderful, inspiring weekend. I know it’s a lot of hard team work so please pass on my thanks to all the team!
Well done, yet again.
— Alison Ringrose
I wanted to thank you and the committee for the work put in to make last weekend a great success. Since returning I have written every day as I managed to recharge my batteries. Thank you.
Hope you're having a quieter week to recover post-NAWGFest! I had a fantastic weekend again and have booked up for next year.

Many, many thanks for the wonderful reception at the Festival. Diane and I enjoyed ourselves immensely and are already planning for next year!
It was a real treat to be on table one, for which we thank you profusely.
We were pleased to meet so many of those we knew well in our time with NAWG and are delighted that the organisation carries on in such a welcoming and enthusiastic manner.
Please convey to your committee our thanks for your work. We know the level of commitment required to make such an organisation tick and then 'boom' out its message.
Well done, all of you.
Mike and Diane
I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading The Write Path 2016 and would recommend the anthology, especially to those thinking of entering the NAWG awards. This is not intended as a review but I found the judges' comments really interesting and constructive. I was also (nearly said keen) intrigued to read Derek Keen's entries. Those members at last year's Gala Dinner will remember how many prizes he scooped. I think someone called out he should be banned from entering next year's awards! His short story for teenagers seemed a bit violent but it was about getting back at the bullies – and a clever way to deal with the problem.
From all the excellent pieces there was a poem, Those Days by Sam Wilcox, which I found very moving. It inspired me to write recalling a day spent with my grandson, one hot August day in 2014, when we paddled in the Towy.
Last month I received the Writers' Bureau Writing for Children course – the amazing prize won in the raffle at the NAWG festival. I hope I can do it justice as there are times when my confidence wanes. I am re-reading your Boosting Your Self Confidence as a Writer.
With all best wishes,
— Carole Ann Smith, Llanelli Writers' Circle

I just wanted to thank you all again for the Committee's hard work in organising this year's NAWGFest. It was another fantastic weekend, with great tutors, fab company and the staff at Warwick were always helpful. Here's to NAWGFest17!
We all very much enjoyed the weekend and my two fellow writing group companions thought it was brilliant and have enthused to the others since our return. Who knows how many you will have next year! I will definitely be there!
Great to see you at the weekend. Really enjoyed the Festival. If there was a drawback, it was the excessive walking but it probably did me good. Looking forward to next year.
This was the first time I had visited the Festival. My wife and I just came for the Gala Dinner on Saturday evening and we were very impressed. The dinner was excellent. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented – it really was 'fine dining'.
After dinner, Gervase Phinn amused us with his anecdotes and stories. The evening was a great success and I would like to thank the Committee of NAWG for such an excellent function. Well done everyone.
I want to say a great big thank you to all the staff, volunteers, supporters and helpers and Warwick University Staff (whoever they are), for the excellent NAWGFest once again this year; I hope I have included everyone.
I also want to say a special thank to Catherine Fitzsimmons who booked me a place at very short notice due to a recent total right knee replacement. She ensured that I had excellent parking facilities and a disabled room which obviously made my Saturday / Sunday stay all the better. She was helpful, always had a smile on her face and made me very welcome and comfortable. Please could you pass my comments on to all concerned and publish my letter in the next newsletter.
The two days all round were excellent, the Gala Dinner was perfect as usual and all in all a great weekend meeting my old buddies and making new contacts. My three workshops were excellent and every year I learn something new.
Very many thanks and hope to see everyone again at Wentworth Writing Weekend at the end of May 2017.
— Best wishes, Elaine
I had meant to e-mail individually, to 'Thank You!' for a fabulous NAWG weekend in Warwick, but have plunged into writing & illustrating another picture-book Ganesh Stories in time for the Carmarthen Book Fair and continuing researching for writing as a regular contributor for www.indianinformer.com.
Please accept this e-mail as 'Thank You!' It was wonderful to see the dynamic Pam Fish, Steve Bowkett and Chris Huck, Anne Steward, Vanessa L. Lester, Cressida Downing, Joyce Worcster, Marvin Close, Kevin Machin and so many other writers. Shivani our granddaughter also, says, 'Thank you!'
Came away buzzing. Looking forward to keep in touch & to NAWG 2017!
Here's a very nice video tribute from Rebeccah.
I'm glad you liked the video. I had such a fabulous time at the Festival. I was so sad to leave.
This was my first time at NAWGFest. What a wonderful weekend! I attended four insightful workshops. The talks were good and the food tasty and plentiful. Accommodation at the university was clean and comfortable.
Despite being a lone delegate from my group, I found people to be friendly, welcoming and inclusive. I have paid my deposit for next year. Now, onwards with writing!
Thank you so much for organising such an excellent evening yesterday. Jan and I enjoyed it so much. The company was great, the meal really lovely and the after dinner speaker was excellent.
The icing on the cake was winning three trophies! I was absolutely thrilled. I was very happy to be shortlisted and hoped I might win one category but to win three was amazing – I am still buzzing.
Thank you so much.
— Best wishes, Derek
I would just like to say how inspiring the NAWG competitions are and I shall continue to send entries on future occasions. With very best wishes to you and many thanks to you and all the team at NAWG for all the effort you put in on behalf of all the writers' groups.

Enjoyed the conference, came back buzzing. Mind now a blur with names. Editing is now top of my list and the name I was given now scares me.
I am just recovering from a most enjoyable weekend. You must feel very proud to be able to present such an outstanding group of course leaders and speakers. The warmth of the welcome and quality of the courses made the whole event most memorable.
What a huge amount of work must go on in the background. What an achievement. I congratulate you.
— Janice, Ashton Writers
It was a lovely festival and full of tweets which made it all great fun.
Thank you for a brilliant piece of organisation; I know how much effort goes into making something seem so effortless. Hope you're recovering from all your labours.
I just wanted to drop you an email to say thank you for organising another great festival. Please pass on my thanks to everyone on the committee for all of their hard work (and I know it is hard work, from the committees that I'm on!). It was a brilliant event this year, and it deserves more success.
I was pleased I managed to get another member from Wrekin Writers to come along this year, albeit just for the Saturday, but hopefully, I can bully some more into coming next year.
I hope you have chance to have a bit of a rest now!
— Simon, Wrekin Writers
A big congratulation to you and the NAWG team for an excellent festival. I just want to say how great the atmosphere was, and the feedback I was getting from participants with regard to their general experience at the festival was really great. Indeed, I always find that the measure of a really successful conference event is the quality of the out-of-session conversations you have with people and this year this was exceptional. I felt that people were really being challenged, inspired and interrogating their practice.
I personally found the conference really enjoyable and valuable, so thank you again for inviting me to participate this year.
So enjoyed yesterday (Saturday of the festival) – talk, dinner, award ceremony, partying with fellow Writers in Somerset and just the whole atmosphere. Thank you to you all and see you next year!
— Helen, Writers in Somerset
What can we say except thank you so much for making 2015 the best one yet.
A big Thank You and a Well Done to everyone concerned for putting together such a very enjoyable writing festival, from the inspirational tutor workshops to the book readings, the accommodation to the meals and teas & coffees served up by cheerful university staff. A highlight was having the opportunity to have a personal chat with Lord Julian Fellowes, who was as charming as he was interesting and whose opening speech set the tone for the full days that followed. I'm already looking forward to next year's.
— Best wishes, Diane
While in touch, may I say that I'm glad Heather's message of thanks was well received – she spoke for all our members in thanking you and your committee for your sterling work year on year.
